Choosing a Designer...

The number one, most important quality to look for in choosing a designer is your comfort level with the person; this should be someone you can work with easily. Decorating should be fun! The designer should be a good listener and be able to tease out  your requirements and preferences and then shape a concept for your room based on your needs, your ideas, and your wishes. Look at the  designer’s portfolio to see the kind of work he/she does; do these rooms appeal to you?

Don’t be sold on what’s the newest thing or the ‘hot’ color. The results must come from you if you are to be happy with it.

“As Susan’s realtor I have had the good fortune to see her take her all-white box of a house and turn it into a home that is charming, eclectic, and inviting. Susan’s home is worthy of a magazine spread with features that show talent, vision, creativity, color and just the right piece in the right place. Without hesitation, I recommend Susan as a person with a designers eye and decorating skills that can make your home the treasure it should be for you and your family.”

“Susan Maynard helped me turn my ordinary living room into a WOW! living room/salon. New sofa, artwork, and furniture placement and I had the look I’d been hoping for. She looks for the good bargains and is a great listener while educating her clients on how to create the perfect room. You can count on Susan’s talent and professionalism.”

Meba Thompson, Realtor, Allen Tate Southpark, Charlotte, NC
